About Laser Facials
Laser Facials at Innovative Aesthetics are non-ablative, which means they work by heating the underlying skin tissue. Which does not harm the surface of the skin. Laser facials reduce visible facial vessels, diffuse redness, minor acne scarring, rosacea, and sun damage. We often perform laser facials as an adjunct treatment to stimulate collagen.
Laser Facials Treatment Information
Laser facials are FDA cleared to reduce wrinkles by gently warming the upper dermis, which improves the appearance of the skin. The treatment result gives the skin a healthy-looking and vibrant appearance. Laser facials are usually performed without topical anesthetic. The most common treatment areas are the face, neck, and chest. Depending on the condition of your skin, more treatments may be required. It is important for the clinician to have a clear understanding of your expectations to make sure they are realistic with this type of procedure.
Our Laser facials are a fairly comfortable laser treatment. The laser head is attached to a cooling unit, which allows the surface of the skin to be cooled during the treatment. Typically, patients describe the treatment as gentle warming of the skin’s surface.
What to Expect During Laser Facials?
Makeup, moisturizers, and sunscreens are removed. In some cases, the treatment area will be shaved so it does not interfere with the laser facial. Numbing creams are normally not used during this procedure. The treatment is fairly comfortable. After the laser treatment, hydrocortisone, moisturizer, and/or sunscreen are applied.
Side Effects of Laser Facials
Although most patients report few, if any, side effects, the most commonly noticed is a slight redness that disappears within a few hours after treatment.
